Seeds, The legacy of the Land
In the history of agriculture, local seeds and knowledge have been exchanged between campesinos, and this has been the basis for the great diversity of maize in Mexico. Maize seeds are simultaneously the beginning and the end of an idyll between the campesino and the sacred plant.

Seeds is an award-winning Short Documentary film that opens a dialogue between three different time periods.
The past period where the Campesinos, their maize seeds, and their land were understood as the same unit.
The present period where a few guardians of native maize seeds put their faith in keeping the legacy of their ancestors alive.
And the future, an uncertain scenario where the lack of a new generation of Campesinos puts not just the life of the seeds at risk but their ancestors’ wisdom as well.
