Alejandro's mental health journey allowed him to question deeply rooted family patterns and gender stereotypes. His story shows how emotional care can transform not only individuals, but also family and community dynamics, in line with Bienestar: Estar Bien’s vision of collective care.
Context
Created for Alianza Americas, a Chicago-based network of Latin American and Caribbean migrant-led organizations, this series was produced as part of the Bienestar: Estar Bien initiative. The campaign addresses mental health stigma in Latino and immigrant communities and highlights how migration, discrimination, violence, and political uncertainty can affect emotional well-being. Through personal testimonies, the series emphasizes community care, culturally relevant support systems, and access to mental health services as essential tools for healing and collective well-being.
