Bienestar estar bien
US 2026
Mental health is a human right that everyone should have. It includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being, and it shapes the way we think, feel, and act.
To help raise awareness and open conversations about mental health within the Latino community living in the United States, I traveled to Chicago to film testimonies from people who actively participate in support groups to learn how to manage their emotions.
The Bienestar estar Bien project from Alianza Américas seeks to reduce the stigma around discussing mental health. It creates safe spaces and educational materials that encourage open dialogue and help the community better understand and care for their well-being.
Mental health is like a tree—it needs nourishment, rest, support, and care. It must be nurtured and maintained. Just as trees in a forest grow together and help sustain one another, we, too, need strong roots and supportive networks to grow.
